Favorites from our staff:
When Pete Cronk is feeling
all business, he checks in regularly at the American
Marketing Association/Marketing News Magazine, B-to-B
Magazine, and Revolution
Magazine. Come fun time, and he'll more likely be found
checking up on the sports teams of his alma mater (Syracuse
University) and perusing the scores at CNN/Sports
Illustrated.
When Patty Farro's not
fielding on the softball diamond, she's a regular at the Women's
Sports Foundation. She and her family have their own Christmas
tree growing business, so it's no surprise they've been seen
at the Christmas
Tree Farmers Association of New York State. Lighter moments
call for browsing at both Cookbooks
Online and The
Obscure Store & Reading Room.
Steve Johnson keeps
up on serious news at The
New York Times, and not-so-serious news at The
Onion. A devoted Yankees fan, he's sometimes guilty of
lurking at -- where else? -- the Yankees
Official site. I haven't happened upon any good
trout sites, but, as the bio says, I'd rather be knee-deep
in a trout stream...
Paula Johnson keeps
things interesting in the kitchen with help from The
Food Network, but turns to About.com's
Italian Cuisine page for the serious stuff. And for serious
web surfing, Paula starts at either 37.com
or Ask
Jeeves.
Ask Jon Davis which sites
he visits, and you're likely to learn more about race horse
breeding than you bargained for. He recommends the Thoroughbred
Retirement Foundation, Country
Life Farm, Dogwood
Stable, Inc., and -- for those nagging pedigree questions
-- Del
Mar Pedigree Query.
March finds Laurie Van
Kuren (a former hoopster herself) tracking NCAA
b-ball, while during the rest of the year she counts on ESPN
for the scores. Faithful friends are always on hand at the
American Kennel Club, and
for human interest, Laurie keeps tabs on Court
TV.
Rob Stiene regularly checks
in at Salon
Magazine. A hiker from "way back," he's been
known to start on-line treks at the White
Mountains Server. Rob is also a student of the American
Civil War, and recommends The
American Civil War Home Page and the Gettysburg
Discussion Group as good places to poke around.
Account assistant Jamie Knudsen catches up on recent health articles at the official "Our Bodies, Ourselves" website, and seeks encouragement and inspiration from the talented writers/speakers of "Women of Faith." In her down time, you'll find her with an "InStyle" or "Self" magazine, flipping between HBO movies, TBS sitcoms, and good ol’ Rachel Ray on
the Food Network.
